Apart from serving the commercial interests of Forth Veterinary Clinic we also hope that our website can play a small role in animal (and other) education. You might even want to write your contribution or have something for sale but if you do then send it as an attachment and not in the original text. If it is of interest to others I’ll put it up. I have always found that clients appreciate information as well as how to do things themselves.
This has never reduced my work but has increased it. Some people want to do a lot of their own animal health work and some none at all. It might be to save money or just feel self sufficient. If you learn well enough then you may not need me to do your routine things. I dont fear that you will get things wrong. I know that education does not have that effect. If you have been taught well you will recognize sooner when you are heading into trouble. Most of my clients are intelligent and capable. I am seldom disappointed in that belief.
Most of us rise or fall to the level that is expected of us. Of course there is a legal list of ``vet only`` procedures. That means there are some things you cannot do at all unless you are a registered vet and others you cannot do for reward from others but you can do them on your own animals provided you conform with animal welfare and other regulations. If I have taught you to do these things on your own animals and you try it elsewhere on someone else`s animals then you may be in danger of litigation from them, me or the DPP.

Welcome to Our New Web Site
Our web site is back after a long break while we have been working on some exciting new feature. We at the Forth Valley Vet Clinic would like to thank you for your patience. We are now ready to make our new additions to our site available to you. One of our new features is the Ask Dr Jim Forum. If you would like advice for your treasured family pet, valued livestock or any other questions regarding veterinarian care then ask us via the Ask Dr Jim Forum. Please note that this forum is not a substitute to a one on one consultation and is only for general advice. However if your pet or livestock requires urgent attention or a one on one consultation, please do not hesitate to call the clinic on 6428 2703 or after hours on 6428 2700 or come and see us at the Clinic.
Some of the other features include our new Picture Gallery, Market Place and Dr Jim’s Blog. If you would like to post on the forum, add an advertisement to the market place or even add picture of the family pet you will be required to register(Please note there is no subscription fees or charges for this registration). Also our old favourites are still available including Dr Jim’s Advice to Pet’s (My personal favourite). Please explore and have fun.
Thanks from all of us at Forth Valley Vet Clinic.
