A quick check in on little Tibs progress

The other week, Tib the little penguin was back in the clinic to have some repeat X-rays taken to check on the the progress of healing for his broken leg.

We're happy to share that Tib's recovery is going well. All of his injuries are healing nicely, and the broken bone (as you can see in the attached X-ray) is in good shape. The implants we placed in his leg haven't caused any issues, and there are promising signs that the bone is fusing back together which is comforting to see

Little Tib will need to have further X-rays in a couple of weeks to see how everything is progressing prior to doing some more intensive physio.

His amazing wildlife carer Kathy has said that little Tib is doing well given all things considered and he also has quite the appetite for a little penguin. He isn’t out of the woods yet but everyone is hopeful.

Kathy also mentioned that Tib now even has a little friend to help both of them with their social skills and do little penguin things with under supervision of course.

It may be some time before Tib joins other penguins outside in the pool to re develop is swimming skills.

We all have our fingers a flippers crossed for a positive outcome for this special little penguin.
