Below are the prices for some of our routine veterinary services. For all other procedures, we are happy to provide a clear and detailed estimate during your consultation.

Veterinary Consultations

  • Week Days (30 minutes ) $128

    Saturday Morning (30 minutes ) $128

  • Week Days (45 minutes) $215

    For example: complex medical cases, treatment of multiple issues

  • (15 minutes ) $100
    (30 minutes ) $128

    • This is via phone call or videolink (your pet is not present)

  • 1st Diabetes Consultation. Extended at (45 minutes) $215

  • An extended (45 minute ) consult to discuss your pet’s full history and detailed examination of skin, coat and ears. $195

  • Pre-Surgery Health Check (15 minute) - $75

  • Additional add on during a consult or during de-sexing procedure.

  • Cat Castrate: $195

    All desexing includes; pre-anaesthetic health check with haematology blood work for insight into your pet’s immune system, IV fluids, hospitalisation, GA, take home pain relief and lots of cuddles and TLC.

    Pre-anaesthetic blood tests are optional but recommended and this will incur an additional cost.

Why Forth Vet Clinic recommend and perform pre-anaesthetic blood tests, even for routine surgical procedures

Pre-anaesthetic blood testing is an important step to help keep your pet as safe as possible during surgery. Even when your dog or cat appears perfectly healthy, these tests give us a clearer picture of how their organs are functioning especially the liver and kidneys, which process anaesthetic drugs.

The results can help us identify hidden issues such as infection, dehydration, or early organ changes that might not yet show symptoms. This information allows our vets to adjust the anaesthetic plan, medication doses, or even delay surgery if needed to protect your pet’s wellbeing.

In short, pre-anaesthetic blood work helps us tailor care to your pet’s needs by providing a broader picture of their health and guiding anaesthetic decisions for the safest possible procedure and recovery.

Understanding Titre Testing

Titre testing is a blood test that checks for measurable antibodies against the three diseases covered by the C3 vaccination (Canine parvovirus, Canine distemper, Canine adenovirus).

The test provides our vets with additional clinical information about how your dog has responded to vaccinations and whether measurable antibodies remain present. Antibodies reflect immune protection , so a good level of antibodies reflects a good immune response against these vaccinatable diseases. Titre testing has become easier to access at Forth Valley Veterinary Clinic with new in-house testing and equipment in our lab.

This testing is completed in-house and results are generally available on the same day.

This allows our vet to consider the result alongside the dog’s vaccination history, age, health and individual disease risks when making a recommendation. ) d recovery.

Dog Health and Vaccination Consults include an annual canine cough vaccine and annual health check up including:

  • Teeth and oral health

  • Weight and body condition

  • Heart and circulation

  • Joints, movement and mobility

  • Skin, coat and ears

  • Eyes and general physical condition

  • Lumps or other physical changes

  • Lifestyle and disease exposure risks

  • and discusses other preventative care needs including C3 (as relevant)

It is helpful to remember that 12 months for a dog is like 6-7 years for us, so essentially, a visit to the doctor once every 6 years! This is also why we recommend a check every 6 months for older pets. Finding changes earlier may provide more options for treatment, management and ongoing care.
