Zylekene
Zylkene is a complementary feed for cats and dogs that contains a natural product derived from Casein, a protein in milk. It is a molecule well known to promote the relaxation of newborns after breastfeeding.
It assists animals when facing unusual and unpredictable situations and can be used before occasions, such as a change in their normal environment. It has been clinically proven to have calming properties and anxiolytic actions to help relax cats and dogs. For some owners it may be another option to help reduce anxiety and behavioural issues.
Zylkene can help support dogs and cats in situations where they find they need to adapt their behaviour to cope. These situations can include kennel and cattery stays, moving house, the arrival of a new pet or baby, sudden noises such as fireworks, travel or festivities.
Even the most seemingly innocuous situations and experiences can trigger your pet's uneasiness when they are in unusual or unpredictable situations. Even changes that you consider positive; such as moving house, or bringing home your new bundle of joy (human or the animal kind!) can be disruptive to you pet, who needs a consistant routine and predictable environment to feel comfortable.
Scratching is quite common in cats as is chewing in puppies, but it can be because your pet is not coping in a new situation. Your dog may be bored when you are not at home, or uneasy when left alone. Your cat may feel their home or favourite spot has changed; that their territory has been redefined. Unusual behaviour may be a sign something is not quite right with your pet. They are counting on you to sense changes in their mood, habits and/or behaviour…. And to help find ways to cope!
Zylkene is palatable and easy to give, it can be given daily and is both preservative and lactose free. It is available in two forms of administration - so you can tailor to suit your pet’s needs.
- A yeast flavoured chew can be given as a treat and increase pet/owner bond! A handy zip lock foil pack keeps the chews fresher for longer.
- Capsules are a tasteless powder which can be given in multiple ways; it can be mixed in with food or dissolved with water – great for fussy eaters.
